  9. HP's Cooperative Solutions QuoteMaster is a HP95LX PalmTop Utility for
  10. producing accurate, comprehensive CCSY, client-server quotations on a
  11. fully interactive, user-friendly basis. It may be run on the HP-95LX or
  12. on any desktop system containing Lotus 123 ver 2.0 or greater.

  14. Purpose
  15. -------
  16.  
  17.           Welcome  to  the Cooperative  Computing  Systems Division
  18. (CCSY) QuoteMaster, designed to help you quickly and easily configure
  19. and quote our integrated client/server solutions. QuoteMaster will step
  20. you through the solution component menus, check the configuration, and
  21. create a budgetary quote with all of the correct product numbers,
  22. options and prices.
  23.  
  24. QuoteMaster automatically adds all dependent products (such as
  25. media/manuals and preload products), to the order and determines the
  26. minimum disk space required for the selected software.
  27.  
  28. Standalone peripherals, HP-UX license upgrades and programming
  29. languages are not included. You may add these to the quote manually.
  30. Continue by using CONRAD to check the entire quote.
  31.  
  32. We will update the CCSY QuoteMaster every quarter; obtain it from the
  33. CCSY Hotline (subject: QUOTMSTR). We welcome your comments and

  40. The QuoteMaster Configurator is a Lotus 123 automated worksheet. It is
  41. a seamless, user-friendly application wholly written in Lotus Macro
  42. code.
  43.  
  44. Designed to run on Lotus 123 version 2.2 for the HP PalmTop, it can
  45. also run on any version of Lotus 123 from version 2.2, or later,
  46. including 123 for Windows. It also runs on Lotus 2.0 but without some
  47. of the functions available in later releases. Though not supported, it
  48. also has been found by users to run on Excel 4.0, and Quattro Pro 2.0
  49. (when run in 123 mode).

  51. Output
  52. ------
  53.  
  54. QuoteMaster displays the generated quotation on the screen, to a local
  55. printer, or to a print file. The HP PalmTop user can print the
  56. quotation to an attached serial printer, or may upload a print file for
  57. printing on a parallel printer attached to a desktop.

  59. Loading QuoteMaster onto your HP PalmTop
  60. ----------------------------------------
  61.  
  62. The following instructions are provided only to help expedite
  63. installation onto HP PalmTop systems. Refer to your HP PalmTop manual,
  64. or to HP PalmTop support at 1-(503) 757-2004 for assistance in managing
  65. your HP PalmTop.
  66.  
  67. A. Preliminaries
  68.  
  69. Default Directory
  70.  
  71. The three spreadsheet files comprising QuoteMaster, QMASTER.WK1,
  72. QMHELP.WK1, and AUTO123.WK1, should be placed in your Lotus 123 default
  73. data directory. On the HP PalmTop, the default directory is generally
  74. the main (C:\) or root directory. To determine which is your default
  75. directory, enter Lotus and type / W orksheet G lobal D irectory D
  76. efault. The default directory appears at the top of the Lotus screen;
  77. place your QuoteMaster files in that directory.
  78.  
  79. Memory
  80.  
  81. 1 MB HP PalmTops have a default setting of 514K of System RAM.
  82. Therefore, persons with a 1MB HP PalmTop need make no adjustment in
  83. order to run QuoteMaster and may skip this section.
  84.  
  85. HP PalmTops with only 512K total memory must be reconfigured to allow
  86. 322K of system RAM. Since System RAM is incremented at the expense of
  87. Disk RAM, users should first be certain that their files on disk do not
  88. take up more than 190K (512K - 322K = 190K) including the QuoteMaster
  89. files (QMASTER.WK1 requires 148K, QMHELP.WK1 requires 5K, and
  90. AUTO123.WK1 requires 3K: TOTAL: 156K). Thus, on a 512K HP PalmTop
  91. system, only 34K remains for other user files on disk. If this is
  92. insufficient, two remedies are possible: 1) eliminate QMHELP.WK1 (the
  93. help file) and AUTO123.WK1 (the auto-launcher program). This action
  94. frees up only 8K, however. 2) Upgrade your HP PalmTop to 1MB RAM.

  96. Follow these steps to modify  memory settings if you have a 512K HP
  97. PalmTop:
  98.  
  99.                1.  Exit all other applications
  100.                2.  Press Shift-Setup
  101.                3.  S (for System)
  102.                4.  M (for Memory)
  103.                5.  Left or Right Arrow until "System RAM" is equal to
  104.                    or greater than 322K. If the Arrow keys do not
  105.                    permit you to increase System RAM at the expense of
  106.                    RAM Disk, this is because your disk is rather full.
  107.                    Exit, delete files, and begin again at step number
  108.                    1.
  109.                6.  ESCape
  110.                7.  Q (for Quit)
  111.                8.  Q (for Quit)
  112.                9.  Press Enter for Reboot.

  115. If you still have a Memory Full problem on your HP PalmTop:
  116.  
  117.                1.  Be certain that you are not running any other HP
  118.                    PalmTop application while running QuoteMaster.
  119.                2.  If you still have trouble, try increasing your
  120.                    system RAM by another 8K to 330K (using the above
  121.                    instructions).
  122.                3.  Contact HP PalmTop support to determine if the
  123.                    problem is caused by a hardware fault.

  126.           Downloading QuoteMaster from Desktop to HP PalmTop
  127.           --------------------------------------------------
  128.  
  129.           Required:
  130.                1) HP Connectivity Pack for the HP-95LX.
  131.                2) A serial (RS-232) port on your desktop.
  132.  
  133.           Procedure:
  134.                1)  Connect your HP PalmTop to your Desktop using the
  135.                    cable provided in the connectivity pack.  Start the
  136.                    Filer on your HP PalmTop
  137.                2)  Follow the procedures outlined in the Connectivity
  138.                    Pack to install the connectivity software on your
  139.                    desktop.

  141.                Desktop:
  142.  
  143.                3)  use APP95 to establish a link to the HP PalmTop
  144.  
  145.                4)  Enter the filer mode (Alt-2)
  146.  
  147.                5)  Split the screen (F7)
  148.  
  149.                6)   Establish a remote connection (F6).  Choose the
  150.                     directory that you have determined to be the Lotus
  151.                     default directory (in most cases the main, Root
  152.                     (C:\) directory and thus no action is required).
  153.  
  154.                7)   Use F9 to tag the QuoteMaster files in the local
  155.                     window QMASTER.WK1, QMHELP.WK1, and AUTO123.WK1).
  156.  
  157.                8)   Copy (F2) from local (desktop) to remote (the HP
  158.                     PalmTop)
  159.  
  160.                9)   Exit, disconnect the cable.
  161.  
  162.           HP PalmTop:
  163.  
  164.                10)  Press ESCape to exit Server mode.  Exit the filer.
  165.  
  166.                11)  Press the blue 123 application key
  167.

  169.           Working with the QuoteMaster Configurator
  170.           -----------------------------------------
  171.  
  172.           Once you have installed the QuoteMaster files into your
  173.           default Lotus directory on your HP PalmTop or Desktop, the
  174.           load module, called AUTO123.WK1 is automatically loaded
  175.           whenever Lotus 123 is launched.  It provides the following
  176.           options:
  177.  
  178.                1.  QuoteMaster               Loads CCSY.WK1
  179.  
  180.                2.  Genesis Configurator      Loads GENESIS.WK1, the GSY
  181.                                              Configurator (for those
  182.                                              users who have loaded it
  183.                                              onto their system).
  184.  
  185.                3.  Lotus                     Breaks to LOTUS
  186.  
  187.                4.  Retrieve File             Allows User to Load
  188.                                              another Lotus File
  189.  
  190.                5.  Exit Lotus                Ends LOTUS.
  191.  
  192.           AUTO123.WK1 may be deleted, especially if limited disk space
  193.           is available on the HP PalmTop.
  194.  
  195.           To begin work with the QuoteMaster you may either choose
  196.           Option 1, QuoteMaster from the main menu, or, from within
  197.           Lotus, select/FileRetrieve QuoteMaster.WK1.
  198.  
  199.           Operating the QuoteMaster is as easy as using the familiar
  200.           Lotus Menu Bar.
  201.  
  202.           When you first enter the QuoteMaster, you will see a Menu Bar
  203.           across the top of the screen that says:
  204.  
  205.                   Help  Name   Choose   Generate   Edit    File  Leave
  206.  
  207.           Select any of these options by sliding to your selection and
  208.           pressing ENTER, or, by pressing the first letter of your menu
  209.           selection (e.g., "F" for File).
  210.  
  211.           Wherever you are within the menu-tree or program, you can
  212.           always press ESCape several times to return to this main
  213.           menu.

  216.           Description of the Various Menu Options
  217.           ---------------------------------------
  218.  
  219.                Help - Leads to a menu of Help topics.
  220.  
  221.                Name - Enables input of the customer name, address and
  222. phone, along with the "File Ref" name. File Ref is meant to catalog all
  223. the quotations provided to your various customers. It will appear on
  224. the quotation, and will be the name of the worksheet file containing
  225. this quotation if you should choose the FileSave option.
  226.  
  227.                Choose - Leads to a second Menu Bar containing the
  228. headings of various product groups, for example, Knowledge Worker
  229. Solution (KWS) or Enterprise Information Server (EIS). You can enter up
  230. to 999,999 users. Due to space limitations, only 3 digits will apear
  231. on-screen, but the correct number will be on your printed quote.

  233.                Generate - After "CHOOSE", use "GENERATE" to create a
  234. customized quote containing all dependent parts and options. Note:
  235. Generating a quotation overwrites any previously generated quotation,
  236. including any manual changes made to that quotation with the Edit
  237. command (described below).
  238.  
  239.                Edit - Allows for manual editing of the quotation, for
  240. example, the addition of non-CCSY parts such as COBOL. It leads to a
  241. subsequent menu containing:
  242.  
  243.                Change - Allows entry of text, labels or formulas on
  244. existing quotation lines.
  245.  
  246.                Add - Allows the addition of new, empty lines into the
  247. quotation. Use the arrow keys to position the cursor to a particular
  248. line. Pressing Enter inserts a line above that line. Use Change (above)
  249. to type information into those lines. Note: ESCape exits without adding
  250. a line.
  251.  
  252.                Delete - Delete a line from the quotation. Use the arrow
  253. keys to position the cursor to the line that you wish to delete and
  254. press Enter. Note: ESCape exits without deleting a line. View - Allows
  255. the user to view of the quotation, without the ability to make changes.

  257.                Quit - Return
  258.  
  259.                File -  Leads to a second Menu Bar containing:
  260.  
  261.                     - Print - for small or large type printing of the
  262.                               quote
  263.                     - Save  - for saving the file under the File Ref
  264.                               name
  265.                     - Open  - for opening a previously saved file
  266.                     -  Dir  - for changing the subdirectory containing
  267.                               files
  268.                   - Restart - for restarting the quote after erasing
  269.                               all chosen parts
  270.                     - End   - for Saving, and exiting Lotus
  271.                     - Quit  - returns you to the main menu
  272.  
  273.                Leave - Allows you to exit Lotus 123 after offering you
  274. the chance to save your work to a file.

  277.           Components Configuration
  278.           ------------------------
  279.  
  280.           The Genesis Model 8X7 configurator has been integrated into
  281.           QuoteMaster and is accessed when you select a server. It
  282.           allows you easily to configure new 8x7 systems.  For most
  283.           quotes only the first screen needs to be filled in.  Use the
  284.           down arrow key to move the cursor, enter the data requested
  285.           and then press Enter or Esc.  While the default settings are
  286.           normally  sufficient, specific options may be chosen on
  287.           subsequent screens.
